Welcome to Minneapolis Racers Café

A bunch of silly looking goons stop by to play in the garage.

TIME TO GET READY FOR WINTER!!!

We're getting all of our ducks in a row for the coming winter. Starting the old bikes again that are going to sit filling gas & oil tanks, draining carburetor bowls, getting the fluids flowing and pulling batteries. Hans already had one bike stripped down and it got me itching to start ripping one down of my own.

In fact, if there's a Suzuki T500 or old BMW out there with my name on it I'd gladly add to the collection .

Some of this winter's projects will include...

Yamaha RD350s
Suzuki GT750s
Honda CB360
& much
much more!

Here's Nick (above) and Hans (below) getting ready to ride down to first Thursday earlier this month. A little rain made the event short, but that's what we get sometimes in good ol' Minneapolis.

We sure had a great time at the VJMC swap meet on Sunday. There was a pretty descent turn out on a great day to have it. Last year I remember some crappy weather and this year was just the opposite. It was great to see all of the folks that showed up both old friends and new ones. I was able to scoop up a few instruments for the cb360 project this winter as well.

Here's some of the pictures we took at the fair grounds to see what you might have missed. Thanks to all that stopped by the "booth" and made it a fun day there for us.

That old Benelli is still available from Dylan if anybody is interested.

Parts are going going going...

Thanks to the guys at the VJMC for putting this event on this year. We look forward to next year and meeting at 2nd Mondays in the New Brighton area.

Well, the days are quickly getting shorter and certainly colder faster than you can rev up a two-stroke around here. You know what that means...time for winter projects. This Sunday we're going to be at the Motorcycle swap meet at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds sponsored by the AMCA Viking Chapter. We'll be there in the name of fun along with our buddy Dylan to bring you a bunch of cafe racing and vintage motorcycle parts under one imaginary roof. Stop by and see us to get yourself a free Mpls Racers Cafe sticker.

Hey cafe riders here's a little glimpse into what we've been up to the last few weeks of this summer. We've been working on a 1974 Honda CB360 for awhile and finally have it ready to cruise up and down the street. I'm a firm believer of getting an old restore back on the road before you gauge what more needs to be done on your project. The motor is off of http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ that I found up in Coon Rapids, MN. While the frame was a nice treat for us with a lot of credit going to Rick and Andy down in Hopkins, MN. We normally don't give much for pictures before we get our bikes done, but here we are making an exception. Check out the 360 now because its due to change over the winter.

Next we have a little ratty ass Yamaha R5. Not much was done to this bike yet as you can see. Once all the title work is complete this 1972 classic will be available to ride home and you can do with it what you want. Notice the sweet grocery rack on back for running errands and picking up milk and eggs.

Check out the Archive pages and post your thoughts up in our forum. We'll be back to update the page soon so stay tuned......
