1973 Yamaha TX500

Oh No? Oh yes; it's the TX. I bought this as my first project when we started out. I spent way too much time and money on something that has never ran right from day one.

The problem: Yamaha's TX500 was one of their first dual overhead cam engines. Well the head was so big and bulky the heat could not dissipate fast enough. Most of these bikes, including this one, have cracked heads due to the overheating. If you have a TX500 head that's not cracked, I'd love to buy it. These 500 motors really snort when you slap some mikunis on to them.

For Sale by owner: $800 in pieces.
